Training and Development Manager

We are currently searching for Training and Development Managers to join our team.  This position is a four month onboard contract followed by two months paid vacation before returning for another four months.  Potential candidates must have a minimum of two years proven Training and Development experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide professional internal consulting that creates measurable performance solutions and long-term growth and development for all Royal Caribbean employees
  • Confer with management to gain knowledge of specific work
  • Maintain training records of the staff
  • Consult with management to conduct training and development needs analysis that identifies what knowledge and skills of officers, staff and crew need to perform at or above our brand performance standards
  • Full accountability for the execution and delivery of the New Hire Welcome and Orientation programs for all new shipboard employees joining the company
  • Audit and prepare reports for shore side and shipboard management of employee training
  • Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, diversity, harassment, ethics, guest service, sales techniques, health and safety practices, public relations, refresher training, leadership and managerial training, and promotional development
  • Monitor and report employee progress during training periods

Hiring Requirements:

  • Two years progressive Training and development experience, preferrably in a customer service environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • HR Generalist experience is an asset
  • Experience in cruise or hospitality related industry highly preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and distinctly.  Knowledge of additional key languages is desired.
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain a C1/D Visa
  • Applicants must be able to accommodate a 4 months on board / 2 months off contract schedule
  • Ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training

  • Informs players of the rules and regulations as the game progresses.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of completion of Gaming Board and/or Commission approved dealer school or international equivalency
  • Two years dealer experience conducting Blackjack, Dice, American Roulette, Caribbean Stud Poker and various other casino games
  • Ability to rapidly discern the numbers on dice, cards, wheels, etc. and determine the outcome of the game
  • Ability to communicate tactfully with guests, department heads and shipboard employees to resolve problems
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time
  • Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa  (and other relevant visas) when applicable
  • Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training

We are currently searching for Sound Technicians to join our team! This position has a six month onboard contract. Successful candidates will be considered for regular Sound Technicians assignments based on their successful performance. 

Royal Caribbean International is searching for Sound Technicians ready for an exciting life at sea. Imagine spending your day rehearsing and designing programming with entertainers or production groups and your evenings executing the most professional entertainment at sea. Join and become one of our team of experts. In addition to other requirements, potential candidates should have a minimum of two years' experience and a solid background in live sound reinforcement (Experience in musical theater is preferred).

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

  • Operating and maintaining all aspects of the sound system(s) in various entertainment venues for rehearsals, shows, special events and other activities.
  • Assist with and oversee the set up, positioning and strike of microphones, audio snakes and cables, headphone amplifiers, stage monitors and other equipment for all applicable rehearsals, performances, events and activities along with its care and storage.
  • Meet with guest entertainers and certain groups to find out what their audio-related requirements may be for upcoming rehearsals, shows or activities.
  • Routine & preventive maintenance of all related systems / equipments.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Have a minimum of two years' experience and a solid background in live sound reinforcement. Experience in musical theater is preferred.
  • Be proficient in the operation of analog sound consoles such as those manufactured by Yamaha, Crest, and Mackie, analog gear such as compressors, limiters, noise gates, graphic and parametric equalizers, and effects processors such as those manufactured by Lexicon, T.C. Electronics, Eventide, and Yamaha.
  • Be proficient in programming and operation of digital mixers such as those from Yamaha, and have some knowledge of digital consoles such as those from Euphonix and DiGiCo.
  • Must be able to do basic troubleshooting and basic, routine maintenance on many types of audio gear including amplifiers, consoles, outboard audio gear, and be able to detect and replace blown speaker drivers.
  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa  (and other relevant visas) when applicable
  • Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training.

Shop Manager

Experienced Shop Manager required to join a luxury, sail assisted cruising "yacht" on 7th July 2012. Candidates require previous cruise ship experience in this role, as you will be the only shop staff on board. The position will also involve duties in other areas e.g. reception, disembarkation duties, clerical work, etc.

Entertainers with Climbing Experience

Pullmantur is currently seeking Entertainers with Climbing Experience to join our team on board.


 

The selected candidate will be responsible for executing programmed quality day and night time activities to ensure the enjoyment of the guests, following the plan set by the Superior.

The person should be able to adapt and amend activities to suit all ages and types of passengers, have an artistic background and should be able to perform in that way (sketch, song, dance). Also, should be a clear speaker and be able to use a microphone.

This position requires availability to work on board during six months, and after that the candidate will be able to enjoy a minimum two months vacation before the next possible embarkation.

 

Potential candidates must have a minimum of three years experience in a similar position, working in hotels or other cruise ship company. Stage experience is also valuable.

We are looking for aspirants with a sparkling positive personality, organizational skills, people's ability and creating of pleasant working environment are key factors to success of animation team and final product they offer.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensures that all activities are conducted in a lively and professional manner.
  • Rehearses with other members of the team whenever required to ensure coordination.
  • Maintains continual interaction with the guests. Hosts and participates in adult, and family recreational programs and activities.
  • Socializes with guests in public areas at all times. Converse with as many guests as possible in the time allotted.
  • Assist in the shows where required for props and curtains and in acting in any sketch/playback as required.
  • Assists all Excursion dispatch, pax embarkation (check in) on rotation.
  • Participates in greeting and directing guests on and off the gangways when the ship has arrived in the ports of call.
  • Operates spotlight equipment for production shows according to instructions as needed, when stage staff are required to perform duties backstage. Attends mandatory rehearsals as required.
  • Assists in the coordination of audio or visual equipment for events as needed.
  • Promote all entertainment activities, including night (tropical party, disco, etc) and daily activities (dance classes, social games, art craft, etc).

Hiring requirements:

  • Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish and English clearly and distinctly. French and Portuguese are also desirable.
  • Ability to accommodate to a six months on / two months off contract schedule for this onboard position.
  • Ability to adjust to, and to work in a multi national environment.
  • A valid passport (minimum 1 year counting from the embarkation date).
  • A valid Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping (STCW-95) certificate.
  • Ability to obtain the required visa, depending on the embarkation port.
  • Pass Pullmantur pre-employment medical examination.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Have a Seaman’s book (desirable).
  • Ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training.

Dive Instructor

Join our dynamic team as a Dive Instructor. The position coordinates the SeaTrek program onboard the vessel and on the islands and also provides guided tours, instruction and promotes rentals on the islands.

Potential candidates should have Professional Association of Diving Instructor (PADI) Open Water Scuba Instructor certification (Minimum of 50 certifications required). The candidate should have CPR certification and life saving certification from the American Red Cross or similar certifying organizations.

Further, on selection, the candidate should also be able to provide proof of possession of PADI Insurance from Vicencia and Buckley of the USA before assignment. Remember, working at Royal Caribbean is more than a job, it's a career!

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Onboard the vessel, works daily shifts promoting and selling SeaTrek activities for the islands and various shore excursions.
  • Arranges Conducts PADI scuba diving courses consisting of classroom and pool activities, according to PADI regulations and SeaTrek Program guidelines.
  • Accompanies guests on scuba diving and snorkeling excursions.
  • On island, prepares the Dive shop for the day's activities. Issues snorkeling equipment to guests participating in the SeaTrek program.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum Professional Association of Diving Instructor (PADI) Open Water Scuba Instructor certification is required.
  • Minimum of 50 certifications required for vessels offering PADI Scuba Instruction classes.
  • CPR certification and life saving certification from the American Red Cross or similar certifying organization.
  • Proof and possession of PADI insurance from Vicencia and Buckley of the USA. Liability coverage required is US$1,000,000 for bodily injury & property and US $2,000,000 for combined single limit and annual aggregate.
  • Ability to speak English clearly and distinctly and be able to understand and interpret written procedures in English
  • Physical ability to participate in emergency life saving procedures and drills including lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa  (and other relevant visas) when applicable
