Cruise Ship Jobs - Dive Instructor

Join our dynamic team as a Dive Instructor. The position coordinates the SeaTrek program onboard the vessel and on the islands and also provides guided tours, instruction and promotes rentals on the islands.

Potential candidates should have Professional Association of Diving Instructor (PADI) Open Water Scuba Instructor certification (Minimum of 50 certifications required). The candidate should have CPR certification and life saving certification from the American Red Cross or similar certifying organizations.

Further, on selection, the candidate should also be able to provide proof of possession of PADI Insurance from Vicencia and Buckley of the USA before assignment. Remember, working at Royal Caribbean is more than a job, it's a career!

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Onboard the vessel, works daily shifts promoting and selling SeaTrek activities for the islands and various shore excursions.
  • Arranges Conducts PADI scuba diving courses consisting of classroom and pool activities, according to PADI regulations and SeaTrek Program guidelines.
  • Accompanies guests on scuba diving and snorkeling excursions.
  • On island, prepares the Dive shop for the day's activities. Issues snorkeling equipment to guests participating in the SeaTrek program.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum Professional Association of Diving Instructor (PADI) Open Water Scuba Instructor certification is required.
  • Minimum of 50 certifications required for vessels offering PADI Scuba Instruction classes.
  • CPR certification and life saving certification from the American Red Cross or similar certifying organization.
  • Proof and possession of PADI insurance from Vicencia and Buckley of the USA. Liability coverage required is US$1,000,000 for bodily injury & property and US $2,000,000 for combined single limit and annual aggregate.
  • Ability to speak English clearly and distinctly and be able to understand and interpret written procedures in English
  • Physical ability to participate in emergency life saving procedures and drills including lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa  (and other relevant visas) when applicable

Crew Administrator

In addition to other requirements, potential candidates must have a minimum of one year experience in an administrative position in the hospitality/ cruise industry.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

  • Oversees the crew sign-on and sign-off process, as directed by the Human Resources Manager, reviewing immigration documentation such as passports, visas, Alien Resident Cards (ARC), Letters of Re-Employment, etc. to determine validity of documents. Refers unusual documentation to the HR Manager.
  • Ensures the efficient clearance of Crewmembers signing on and off through Customs and Immigration by diplomatically encouraging a productive relationship with the relevant officials.
  • Supervises the Crew Relations Specialist in the sign-on and sign-off processes, and ensures Crewmembers receive all documentation prior to sign off, including airline tickets, medicals and training records.
  • Coordinates with the shore-side support group the repatriation process for shipboard employees
  • Supervises the 90-Day US CBP Inspection of all Crew, with the assistance of the HR Manager, T&D Manager, Crew Relations Specialist, Crew Payroll Manager and 2nd Purser Payroll.
  • Ensure accuracy of employee records
  • Works on a rotational basis with the Crew Relations Specialist in the Crew Office performing a variety of related duties.
  • Works with Financial Controller staff in the Crew office in a cooperative, productive and effective manner. Including but not limited to assistance with Payroll Stuffing.
  • As part of the HR Division fully supports Crew Activities and events that help increase Crew morale and optimize positive Crew comments of the overall Crew Relations operation.
  • Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.

Minimum Requirements 

  • Minimum of one-year experience in an administrative position within the hospitality and/or cruise industry.
  • Completion of high school, basic education or vocational training equivalency preferred.
  • Ability to diplomatically liaise with local authorities to expedite efficient clearance of the ship with regards to Customs and Immigration procedures and immediately resolve concerns and negotiate resolutions, without compromising the ship's reporting integrity.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a closely knit team.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential documentation.
  • Proven customer service skills to interact appropriately with guests and crew in a considerate, professional and positive manner by showing concern and listening actively.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully with guests and crew, divisional managers and shipboard employees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment, including adding machines/calculators, typewriters, telephones, computers and copy machines.
  • Working knowledge of computers, internet, and the ability to navigate within a variety software packages such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests and crew
  • Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.  This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers. In accordance with this is the ability to write reports and letters grammatically correct in English.
  • Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German preferred

Casino Manager - Asia

We are currently searching for a Casino Manager to join our team.

This position offers four months onboard and then two months paid vacation before returning for four months.

Potential candidates must have a minimum of five years proven casino management experience and fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs all the casino operations and associated activities throughout the vessel by performing the duties described below either personally or through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Mentors, trains develops Casino team to strengthen their current performance, prepare for future advancement, and to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Meets with function managers and/or staff to review guest comments to implement revisions and improvements.
  • Reviews financial transactions and monitors budget.  Reviews for final approval for gifts, prizes, product replacements, supplies, purchases, etc.
  • Oversees all casino operations, presentations, activities and quality in all venues. Observes preparation to ensure quality standards are met. Oversees the care and maintenance of all equipment, props, supplies, etc.  Oversees all special events conducted onboard the vessel requiring the casino staff.
  • Maintains a high degree of "floor presence" to observe the casino games, slot machines, cash desk to minimize security and fraud issues.  Monitors the casino staff to ensure procedures and services are performed in accordance with Royal Caribbean International's Gold Anchor Standards.
  • Establish and develop relationships with junket tour operators.
  • Oversees the cash handling functions to ensure the counting and reconciliation processes are conducted according to established procedures.
  • Confers with food, beverage, shore excursions, gift shops, etc.  Provides input and feedback for the Cruise Compass newsletter. 
  • Ensures that high roller casino guests are identified and enrolled into Club Royale.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum two to five years progressive management experience as a Casino Manager with consistently high performance ratings in a large resort, cruise line, or hotel.
  • Experience in the Asian market is desired (Singapore, China, Macao, Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, etc.)
  • Satisfactory completion of Gaming Board/Commission approved dealer school.
  • Ability to manage the financial aspects of a casino operation, including expense reduction through cost efficiencies and revenue growth through promotional and up-selling activities.
  • Ability to manage headcount within area as it relates to and supports the business needs of the vessel.
  • Ability to provide customer and personal service including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques.
  • Working knowledge of computers, Internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as Excel, Word, or related programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred.
  • The ability to speak English clearly is required.
  • Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is highly preferred.
  • All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency life saving procedures and drills.

  • Ensures that wagers are placed before table gaming proceeds, such as cards are dealt, roulette wheel is spun, or dice are tossed
  • Accurately maintains the handling of cards, dice, chips, money and other gaming equipment at an appropriate rate to maintain the proper pace of the game
  • Informs players of the rules and regulations as the game progresses.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of completion of Gaming Board and/or Commission approved dealer school or international equivalency
  • Two years dealer experience conducting Blackjack, Dice, American Roulette, Caribbean Stud Poker and various other casino games
  • Ability to rapidly discern the numbers on dice, cards, wheels, etc. and determine the outcome of the game
  • Ability to communicate tactfully with guests, department heads and shipboard employees to resolve problems
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time
  • Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa  (and other relevant visas) when applicable
  • Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training
