Royal Caribbean International currently requires Commis 1. Commis 1 is responsible for preparing and cooking high quality foods according to Royal Caribbean International's corporate recipe standard and primarily assists the Station Head in executing heavy production demand on a daily basis.

In addition to other requirements, potential candidates should have minimum 3 - 4 years kitchen experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel, restaurant or high volume food service facility.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Collaborates with the assigned station-head, usually the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef to review the requirements of the day's meals and time frames for restaurant service. Takes part in ordering and cost controlling food requisitions to avoid over production and unnecessary food wastage.
  • Practices at all times HACCP and onboard sanitation and hygiene standards, in compliance with ship's international itinerary.
  • Knows and operates all equipment according to Company's standard operating procedures. Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of refrigerators, ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, steam kettles, etc.
  • Organize and prepare mis en place. Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Minimum 3 - 4 years kitchen experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel, restaurant or high volume food service facility.
  • Proof of cook apprenticeship completion or equivalency.
  • Ability to read, interpret, demonstrate culinary fundamentals and knife skills.
  • Possesses sound knowledge of food handling procedures with regard to public health standards and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa  (and other relevant visas) when applicable
  • Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training

Cruise Ship Jobs - Cashier

We are currently recruiting for cashiers responsible for controlling and accounting of transactions for the cage windows in the casino onboard a cruise ship.

Applicants should have a minimum of Four GCSE’S  and three to six months experience of Cash Handling.

You should be well presented and possess good interpersonal skills as well as be   prepared to live on-board a cruise ship for a duration of six months.

Procedure and computer system training will be provided.

Hours will be no more than 42 per week and will involve day and evening shifts.

Contracts are six months long and renewable, with between six and eight weeks holiday between contracts.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who loves to travel and is interested in a well paid career.

Basic salary is £300. 00 per week tax free. Up to £500.00 per week including a share of the casino’s tip pool.

Flights, accomodation and healthcare provided

Promotion to assistant manager after the first 6 month contract for the right person.

General duties of the role will include;

Crew Officer for The World

Job Description:

The World, the first luxury oceangoing resort community has an immediate opening for a Crew Administration Officer (Crew & Payroll Purser). This position demands extremely high level customer service skills to support the international crew of The World in all areas relating to payroll, immigration and documentation.

The World offers our employees the best benefits in the industry: 4 months working onboard and 2 months for vacation contracts, which allow for a rewarding work and life balance. Fully paid transportation to and from the vessel, reimbursement on all pre-joining expenses including medical and visas, fully paid medical coverage, tuition reimbursement program, 5% matching retirement plan and more.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Maintain the onboard payroll system & balancing payroll each month
  • Ensure all crew details are entered in the onboard management system & all crew have the appropriate documentation including passports and visas
  • Forecast funds required for sign off crew and cash payouts
  • Process monthly wire transfers/home allotments for onboard personnel
  • Conduct cash payouts for crew members
  • Sign off and pay out of debarking crew members
  • Produce and analyze monthly financial reports
  • Maintain all on board personnel files, administer telephone and internet cards
  • Clearance of crew; passports/airline tickets/landing cards
  • Liase with port agent for visa requirements in upcoming ports
  • Participate in budget preparation as required by Chief Accountant
  • Coordinates all travel schedules and logistics for 265 crew members

The qualified candidate will have excellent administrative skills and be extremely detail oriented. This person must be flexible, patient and have the ability to work well under pressure.

Experience/Education:

  • Hotel administrative and financial background.
  • Previous ship's experience in Administration/Accounting, Chief Purser,
  • Crew Administration Officer, First Purser, Night Auditor.
  • Degree in Accounting preferred
  • Candidate must be fluent in English with at least one other language
  • Must excel in Microsoft Office programs and Fidelio

Junior Cruise Ship Photographers

Job Description:

 

We are looking for NEW HIRE Junior Photographers for the world's largest onboard Photo Concessionaire.

Requirements:

  • Be Fluent in English, , other languages are a plus!
  • Be over 21  years old
  • No visible tattoos
  • Have 2 or more years of photography experience DSLR  (Work or Education)
  • Be willing to live and work onboard a cruise ship for 8 months (Contract)
  • Own a  NIKON body D70 camera (or higher) or you can purchase one at cost once onboar

          (Lenses, media and flashes will be provided to you in order to perform your job)

  • Be available to attend a final in person interview in Buenos Aires (Argentina)

 

Duties:

  • Setting up studios
  • Shooting embarkation when new guests board ship on first day of the cruise.
  • Shooting gangway as guests leave the ship in ports of call.
  • Most likely dressing as a pirate(ships in the Caribbean) and posing with guests.
  • Different locations will have different costume shoots.
  • Assist ‘smudging’ on gangway (basically an aggresive polite way to take photos)
  • Shooting dining room tables on formal nights
  • Retail sales position in the photo gallery selling albums, frames, folios, cameras
  • POS, ringing up all photo sales
  • Weddings on ships also provides additional income once you get promoted to senior photographer

 

Salary & Benefits:

  • U$D Base Salary + Commisions
  • All meals and Accomodation included
  • Vacation: 6 – 8 weeks
  • Paid flights to/from the ship
  • Successful candidates will attend a 5 day training course which is provided at no expense to the staff.

3rd Engineer

Job Description:

Experienced 3rd Engineer required to join a sail assisted cruising vessel on 5th November 2011.

Candidates must have OOW Engineer Unlimited CoC as a minimum, 2 years experience since qualifying, and single handed watch keeping experience. Cruise ship experience would also be beneficial. Salary is in Pounds Sterling paid only whilst on board, and comes with a rotation of 4 months on / 2 months off, plus 4% sailing assignment return bonus at the beginning of each contract. Benefits include good spouse onboard policy, single cabin, and worldwide itineraries.
